Arts & Music in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK — Calvin Berger at George Street Playhouse
February 10 - March 14, 2010
sponsored by The Karma Foundation

Calvin Berger a new musical by Barry Wyner choreographed and directed by Kathleen Marshall

"This new musical is so full of heart and a sense of discovery. It's impossible not to be enchanted. Calvin Berger is an extraordinary achievement, a new musical that's hip and humorous and still touches the heart."
-- Boston Herald

Calvin Berger is a modern day Cyrano – stressed out about a nose he can’t hide and a girl he can’t get. With a creative little scheme, some geeky charm and eloquent words, he goes to great lengths to have the star jock deliver his love-struck letters. But what if the girl of his dreams was right under his nose all along…

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Kathleen Marshall (Broadway’s The Pajama Game, Grease, Wonderful Town and TV’s You’re the One That I Want, The Music Man) this classic story of unrequited love and giddy days of young romance, has a sharp-witted script and musical score by Richard Rodgers Award winner Barry Wyner. Appropriate for ages 12 and up.

HNBenefit Party - January 30, 2010

Last weekend's first ever benefit party for HearNewBrunswick.com was a blast, and raised much needed funds for our co-op radio station.

The event was coordinated by Jon Dugan of HNB's The Big Surprise, airing Thursdays from 6-7pm. Local bands and poets took the stage at HNB and entertained a crowd of supports as we raised money to support the only community controlled radio station of New Brunswick, NJ.

A podcast of the night's festivities will be available online at the HNB Archive later this week.
